Devon County Show 

At the Devon County Show, BMASW organizes and runs the metalwork competitions. 

We are part of the National Blacksmiths competition circuit which travels around many of the large county shows in the South of the UK. 

There are two main NBCC competitions a Static, where competitors create a piece in there workshop at home to fit the schedule criteria this is then judged by an accredited NBCC judge to decide the champion and reserve champion.

The other competition is the live, this is where over the 3 show days blacksmiths need to create a piece using the hearths located at Westpoint to either make a copy piece or a piece to a specification. An example of which in previous years has been; a hanging basket bracket, trivet and shoe horn.

Others that we host alongside these include, bottle opener, public choice and student competitions.
